Product description
In the world of construction, technology and architecture, everything revolves around precision and speed
Schedules are tight, projects are on track, and every minute counts. Nothing is more frustrating than waiting for prints that take just a little too long, especially when deadlines are looming. The HP DesignJet XL 3800 (ps) MFP is designed to take that pressure off and keep your large-format workflow running smoothly.
Speed that really keeps production going
HP positions the XL 3800 as the fastest color printer in its class, with 6 D/A1 pages per minute. The first print out time is as fast as 20 seconds. This means fewer queues at the printer and faster proofing, markup, and fulfillment.
PostScript, PDF and predictable output
The PS version is designed for consistent results with (complex) PDFs. The printer supports Adobe PDF 1.7 and HP-GL/2, among others, so drawings and sets are printed predictably, even if the file contains a lot of detail or layers.
Scan and copy without any detours
With the 15-inch front panel, you can copy, scan, and print directly from the device. Scanning is possible up to 600 dpi and you can scan to email, a shared network folder, or USB, among other options. The flat scanning paper path also helps with originals on thicker materials, such as cardstock.
Continue working with smart media handling
The XL 3800 is designed for continuous printing: spindleless loading, automatic front-loading roll feed, and an automatic horizontal cutter. The integrated output unit neatly collects your prints, keeping sets organized.
Network and document security
For security, there's HP Wolf Security, which includes HP Wolf Enterprise features. Think of boot protection (Secure Boot) and internal storage with AES-256 encryption (256 GB). Network security is also well-managed with common protocols and options like HTTPS, IPsec, and 802.1X authentication.
Sustainability and lower consumption
The printer is made with 33% recycled plastic, and HP uses cardboard-based packaging for this series of cartridges. For supplies recycling, you can use HP Planet Partners (where available). The printer is also ENERGY STAR certified and maintains low power consumption in sleep mode (less than 2.2 watts).
In summary
The HP DesignJet XL 3800 (ps) MFP is for teams that need speed, predictability and continuity: fast A1 production, strong PDF/PS support, built-in scan/copy, enterprise security and a design with clear sustainability choices.
